About Deborah C. Sawyer
Deborah C. Sawyer is Editor of both SERVICE BUSINESS SMARTS and FINDING CUSTOMERS. She is the founder of Information Plus and the author of SMART SERVICES: Competitive Information Strategies, Solutions and Success Stories for Service Businesses - probably the ONLY book to focus exclusively on services - and of GETTING IT RIGHT: Avoiding the High Cost of Wrong Decisions.
Having started and successfully managed several service businesses since 1979, Ms. Sawyer has been 'down in the trenches', dealing with all the issues which come up. She has started, staffed and managed a research company, headquartered in New York City; been a provider of business writing seminars; owned a health care consultancy; operated a Bed & Breakfast establishment; and manages a small apartment building. She's dealt with both corporate clients and individual customers.
She's had to market, sell, promote and plan, hire and fire, all for companies which had no more than their space or time plus knowledge to offer.
